A short demonstration of the bird watching game that’s on public display at the North tower of Grand Front Osaka in Umeda.
The game is running on a 200 inch 3d display, with over 190 viewing angles. This allows us to see the game in 3d, without using glasses! and moreover provides different viewing angles based on where we are in the room. The screen has been developed by NICT, and it’s definitely worth a look if you’re ever in Umeda.
The contents have been modeled, textured, animated and rendered over a period of about 4 months. In total there is 30 seconds of animation, which results in 900 frames, all rendered for 190+ viewing angles. The game is flying through an astonishing 170.000+ images in Full HD, for just 30 seconds of immersive 3d gaming pleasure.
The game is running on the 3rd floor in the “The LAB” area, at the North tower of Grand Front Osaka in Umeda, every weekday from 18:30 till 20:00. There are other contents shown on the screen during the day and in the weekends as well.
